Roadtrip to Carnegie Mellon University: Friday, Sept. 9th - Sunday, Sept. 11th 2005
Roadtrippers: Melissa Abrenica, Pamela Lai, Stephanie Chung, Lila Meng, & Tabitha Lay
On Friday, Sept. 9th, five brave sisters of Rutgers KPL ventured on a long, car journey to Pittsburg, PA to visit their baby colony Carnegie Mellon University. Though the seven hour car ride was long and tiring, the sisters bonded a lot, finding creative ways to make a conversation last for 7 hours. The sisters saw amazing camera worthy scenary on the way to Pittsburg including wierd PA road-signs, cows, grass, mountains, and Amish people.
When the sisters arrived at CMU, the CMU Kappa sisters were very welcoming and let them stay at their hot house on campus. Congrats on getting your own house CMU! At 2AM, the sisters all decided to go out to eat. It was hard for Steph because it was way past her bedtime, but unselfishly, she used all her energy to stay awake and hang out with us! They ate at Eat n' Park, a hip diner/IHOP-type resturant with the coolest menus you've ever seen. Food was good. Kappas went to sleep happy.
On Saturday, the sisters explored with Pittsburg area with the direction of Hannah Kim *Delight*. They ate at the hidden jewel of Squirrel Hill Pittsburg for lunch - a quaint Taiwanese restaurant that served REAL Taiwanese food and amazing bubble tea. After lunch, the sisters went shopping together, marveled at how clean and tidy every place was. One of the sisters even ventured into Best Buy and bought a brand new Xbox for her little bro.
At ACMoore, sisters bought crafts to make including trying out embroidery, cellphone ascessory making, and paddle making.
When the sisters returned to the Kappa house, they, as well as the CMU sisters, all ate Chinese food take-out together. Later on, some sisters helped out outside finishing CMU's Decadence paddle...
